Plane

Lublin does not have its own airport. If you plan to travel to the EJC 2012 by plane, choose a convenient airport and then, set off to Lublin by train, car or bus. You will find useful information on airports near Lublin below.

We recommend to fly to Warsaw.

Warsaw

There are many airlines with flights to Warsaw, including international carriers, as well as cheap airlines. There are two airports operating in Warsaw: Modlin and Okęcie (Warsaw Chopin Airport).

WARSAW CHOPIN AIRPORT (OKĘCIE)
To get from the airport to the central train station (Dworzec Główny PKP )– Aleje Jerozolimskie 54, you need to take the bus number 175. It should take about 30-60 minutes (depending on the time of the day). Since June, there will also be a new train connection between the airport and the city centre. The estimated time of travel is about 15 minutes.
You can also travel by taxi (20-30 minutes depending on the time of the day). You should pay about 30-50 PLN for such a drive, but you should be careful – there are some dishonest taxi drivers who don't have a licence, and take three times as much money. A list of taxi corporations recommended by the airport is available here: http://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/en/passenger/access-and-car-parks/taxi/taxi?cl=en&set_language=en.

WARSAW-MODLIN MAZOVIA AIRPORT
The Modlin Airport starts working in July 2012. It will be a hub for low- cost carriers such as Wizzair and Ryanair. The airport is located about 35 km from the centre of Warsaw, so you need about 60 minutes to cover this distance. Unfortunately, there is no detailed information available about the connection between the airport and the city centre yet.

THE JOURNEY FROM WARSAW TO LUBLIN

BY TRAIN
Travelling by train is the easiest way to get to Lublin from Warsaw. The trains go every 2-3 hours from 5.55 a. m. to 7.50 p.m. (on Sunday to 8.58 p.m,). The estimated time of travel is 2,5 hours. Here you can check up the timetables: http://rozklad-pkp.pl/?q=en/node/143.

You can buy the ticket via the internet (https://bilet.intercity.pl/), at the train station ( in the ticket office or using the ticket machine) or by the ticket inspector, but in this case you will pay a little bit more (the difference is 10 PLN and you can pay only in cash).
The full-price ticket costs about 40 PLN (10ˆˆ€). There are also some discounts, such as 26% discount for people who are less than 26 years old, 33% for a group of 2-5 people who travel with a child. If you use the discount, you have to show a document which identifies your age during the ticket inspection.
Be careful! There are many companies acting within the scope of Polish railways, so please, pay attention to what kind of ticket you are buying. If you buy an Intercity or TLK ticket, you can not travel by the RegioEkspres train!

POLSKI BUS
We also recommend travelling by POLSKI BUS, which goes to Lublin from the Bus Station Metro Wilanowska (Dworzec Autobusowy Metro Wilanowska), stand number 14 at Al. Wilanowska http://www.polskibus.com/en/timetable
The estimated time of travel is about 3 hours, the ticket costs about 3,5€, times of departure: 07:15, 10:30, 13:45, 18:20, 21:25. Please, remember to book your ticket in advance, its obligatory!

MINIBUS
There are also CONTBUS minibuses, which go quite frequently from Warsaw to Lublin. They have their own station at Chałubińskiego Street, past the „MARRIOTT” hotel (opposite to the central train station). The buses go approximately every 30 minutes from 7 a.m to 8.45 p.m.

Some of them go from the airport “Okęcie”:

Monday-Saturday: 09:15, 10:15, 11:00, 13:05, 15:15,
Sunday: 10:15, 11:00, 13:05, 15:15

Be careful! Minibuses are quite popular, so it may turn out that there is not enough place for all passengers. On the other hand, they go quite frequently, so you may get to Lublin faster than by train – although it may be uncomfortable if you have many pieces of luggage. If you want to go from the airport, the ticket will cost 45 PLN, from the bus stop near the central bus station - 30PLN
